335 - TN690B-5a R9 NGC AU50 BN Harris & Pearl, Nashville Tennessee with 50 on reverse struck in Copper. Rare town and merchant. Dick Harris and Henry Pearl operated a Tonsorial Saloon specializing in shaving, hair dressing, dyeing and bathing. Both owners were African-Americans adding to this token's significance. We sold a Raw EF example that realized $3,326.27 in our November 2004 catalog sale. From the Lumberton and Steve Tanenbaum collections, earlier from an IKO TAMS auction October 1993. (3000-4000)
