Description
248 - OH165BWa-1a R8 NGC MS64 BN Trace Red all on the obverse with nice luster and very nice toning on the obverse. One Shave Hill. The Hill refers to William Hill an African-American Barber located at 32 Central in Cincinnati Ohio. Hill also issued tokens for a Hair Cut and $5.00, though what the latter was good for is as yet unknown. We sold an NGC MS65 RB example of the equally rare -2a variety in our December 2022 catalog sale for $2,224. From the Lumberton, Steve Tanenbaum, James Holtel and George Fuld collections. (2000-3000)
