Description

MILLER PA 54A NGC MS63 20% Bright. Bridesburg Barrel Manufacturer, Philadelphia Pennsylvania 1 counterstamped as denomination. Struck in Brass with a Plain edge and featuring a wooden barrel. Bridesburg is a neighborhood in Philadelphia and the tokens were listed as early at 1858. Always considered very rare, Miller assigned a value of $200 in FINE condition way back in 1962. We sold a NGC MS62 example of the 20 denomination for $420 in our December 2022 sale. From the Steve Hayden and Don Partrick collections earlier from Heritage in December 2020.
