138 - MD060 Y-1b R9 NGC MS61 Or a bit better with 30% Bright mint luster. Ph. Odenwald Good For 4 Cents with Beer Mug reverse die 1296. Once attributed to Chicago in Fuld as IL150AP-1b but has now been relocated to Baltimore Maryland in the new Store Card book. Philip Odenwald is listed in an 1863 directory as a brewer with a tavern attached to the brewery. The finest known example of the merchant by a wide margin. Very rare merchant, one of just three we have seen offered. A raw VF Details quite porous sold for $225 in our September 2010 sale. This is the current plate token in the new Store Card book. From the Rick Irons and Steve Tanenbaum collections. Earlier from our July 2012 sale were it realized $1,850, still earlier from Roy Van Ormer in 1989. (2000-3000)
