Description
48 - 165/400 a R5 Raw AU Trace Red and sharply struck. The Union Must and Shall be Preserved Jackson with shield reverse. The reverse is Higgin's Indiana Primitive version of Scovill's Union shield die 163. The present specimen is unusually well struck and reveals that Union is not spelled out with letters, but is only represented by a series of thick vertical lines. A raw EF brought $130 in our July 2009 sale. (150-200)
