Description

MI175A-1a     R9       VF+     Congdon Brothers, Chelsea Michigan.  The only use of extremely rare reverse die 1183A.  This die is not pictured in Fuld further attesting to its great rarity.  Serving as a quick diagnostic point as well as an explanation of its rarity is a die crack extending from the eagles head to the rim through the fifth star.  This is one of only three examples I have seen offered.  From the Henry South collection earlier from my April 2000 sale were it realized $1,045. (1,500,2,000)
