13    P        9/404 a              R9   FINE       Slightly uneven strike with a short well hidden obverse scratch and a tiny L shaped punch mark above Liberty's head resulting in a slight flattening on the reverse.  Exceedingly rare Indiana Primitive reverse die and its only use in either the Patriotic or Store Card series.  One of just three examples I have seen offered publicly in the last twenty five year.  This example brought $762.30 in my April 1996 sale. 174  P      427/480A b         R9   EF           With oddly counterstamped reverse as is at least one other example of this variety.  The counterstamp consists of a series of parallel and one perpendicular lines covering two thirds of reverse along with BLOOD / HEAT with the D running mostly off the planchet.  Union C 1863 with Eureka Good For 10.  Two rare dies particularly the reverse.  This die combination often comes with similar counterstamps although this seems to be the most complete, see my sales August 1997 and December 2000. 179          500/505 b            R8   AU          30% Bright with dark residues. McDONOUGH within wreath with Eagle. Delisted as a Civil War token and thought to be a English game counter honoring heroes of the War of 1812, although a couple appear to be misspelled. In this case Thomas MacDonough who defeated the British on Lake Champlain . A competing theory hold that they are actually Philadelphia store cards from the late 1850's to early 1860's, time may tell the whole story. Or maybe they are all towns in Georgia . 186  P      527/528 d            R10 EF           Unique reverse die and two known of the obverse die (also unique for Type 1).  Currently delisted apparently because it is counterstamped, I am not sure I fully understand the reasoning and it may be relisted one day along with a few others that  seemed to have been capriciously omitted.  The Fuld plate specimen for obverse and reverse in the 4th Revised Edition.  Ex. H. South and L. Wilson collections and from my April 1999 auction were it realized $2,750 in competitive bidding. (2,000-3,000)
